Privacy policy
Last updated 8 September 2026
This policy covers abedua.company, the website. It does not cover the Abedua app, because the app is not open yet — when it is, it will have its own policy explaining what it collects and why, and we will tell you before that starts.
The short version
This site asks for one piece of personal information: your email address, if you choose to join the waitlist. There are no cookies, no analytics, no advertising trackers and no third-party scripts watching what you do here. We do not sell or rent anything about you to anyone.
Who is responsible for your data
Abedua is the data controller for the personal data described here. We are based in Ghana and this policy is written around the Data Protection Act, 2012 (Act 843).
You can reach us about anything in this policy at carefareservice@gmail.com.
What we collect
If you submit the waitlist form, we store two things:
- Your email address, as you typed it, lower-cased.
- A short label recording which part of the site you signed up from, so we know which page is doing the work. It says something like “trust” or “landing”. It is not an identifier and it is not tied to anything else about you.
The form also has a hidden field that only automated bots fill in. If it is filled, the submission is discarded. Nothing from that field is ever stored.
Beyond that, our hosting provider keeps ordinary server logs of requests to the site — IP address, time, the page requested, and browser user-agent — as every web server does. We use these only to keep the site running and to investigate abuse or faults. We do not use them to build a profile of you.
What we do not do
- We set no cookies, and we store nothing in your browser.
- We run no analytics, no heatmaps, no session recording and no advertising pixels.
- We load no third-party scripts. The fonts are served from our own domain, not from a font provider, so your browser makes no request to anyone else while you read this page.
- We do not sell, rent or trade your email address, and we do not share it for anyone else's marketing.
- We do not make automated decisions about you, and we do not profile you.
Why we are allowed to hold it
You gave it to us so we would tell you when Abedua opens. That consent is the basis on which we hold it, and you can withdraw it at any time by asking us to delete you. Withdrawing costs you nothing and we will not ask why.
What we use it for
Waitlist emails are used to write to you about Abedua's launch and the things standing between us and it — the licence, the app, the opening date. That is all. We are not going to start sending you unrelated marketing, and we will not pass your address to a third party so they can.
Every email we send you will have an unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing removes you from the list.
Who else touches it
Two suppliers process data on our behalf, under contract and on our instructions:
- Supabase, which hosts the database the waitlist is stored in.
- Cloudflare, which serves this site and therefore handles the request logs described above.
Both operate servers outside Ghana, so your email address is stored and processed abroad. Act 843 permits this where the data is adequately protected; we rely on the contractual terms these providers offer and on the safeguards built into their platforms. If you would rather your address were not held this way, do not join the waitlist — or ask us to delete it and we will.
Market prices and other people's websites
The share prices on this site come from a third-party Ghana Stock Exchange data feed. We fetch them from our own server, not from your browser, so the feed's operator does not see you or your IP address.
Where we link out — to the Exchange, the Bank of Ghana, the SEC register — you are on their site under their policy, not ours.
How long we keep it
We keep your email address until Abedua launches and you have had the chance to open an account, or until you ask us to delete it, whichever comes first. If the project is abandoned, we delete the list. Server logs are kept for a short period by our hosting provider and then discarded.
Your rights
Under the Data Protection Act, 2012 (Act 843) you can ask us to tell you what we hold about you, correct it if it is wrong, delete it, or stop using it. You can also object to us processing it. Write to us and we will act within a reasonable time and at no charge.
If you think we have handled your data badly, please tell us first — but you are entitled to complain to the Data Protection Commission of Ghana without going through us.
Children
This site is meant for adults. Please do not submit the waitlist form if you are under 18. If we learn that we hold an address belonging to a child, we will delete it.
Security
The site is served over HTTPS, and the waitlist form submits to our server rather than posting directly to the database, so the database credential is never sent to your browser. The credential the server uses can add a row to the waitlist and nothing else — it cannot read the list back. No system is perfectly secure, but we have kept the amount of data we hold small on purpose, which is the most reliable protection there is.
Changes
If this policy changes we will update the date at the top of the page. If a change materially affects people already on the waitlist, we will email them rather than rely on you noticing.
